Church DescriptionWelcome! All are invited to come and visit our worship services and meetings. We would love to get to know you and answer any questions you might have. Emmanuel Presbyterian is a Spanish speaking church located in the village of San Pablo in Orange Walk District. Our purpose is “to glorify God and to enjoy him forever” (Westminster Shorter Catechism). We are a community of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and seek to make disciples (learners/followers of Jesus) from all nations, tribes and peoples by proclaiming the Good News that God so loved the world that He sent His one and only Son to rescue men, women and children from sin and condemnation. Jesus commanded his followers to make disciples of all nations by baptizing and teaching them everything He has commanded. So our goal is to share the message of salvation that people are saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone and to preach and teach the whole counsel of God as contained in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments. We are a church which emphasizes the faithful preaching of God’s Word, the proper administration of the sacraments (baptism and the Lord’s Supper), and fervent prayer in dependence upon God.As a Presbyterian church, we are led by a group of elders - men who are called by God and voted on by the congregation to serve, guide, and shepherd the local congregation. As a church in the reformed tradition, we hold to the emphases of the Protestant Reformation: that the basis of our teachings is found in the Bible alone, that we are saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone, and that all glory belongs to God.As a confessional church, we publicly proclaim that we believe that the ancient creeds of historic Christianity (e.g. Apostle’s Creed) as well as the Westminster Confession and Catechisms are accurate summaries of the teachings of Scripture. As a fellowship of believers, we maintain a gracious and loving family environment and seek to love and serve God and one another as well as the community, putting into practice the God-given gifts of each believer.Short HistoryEmmanuel Presbyterian Church in San Pablo is the oldest Presbyterian church in Orange Walk District with more than 35 years of existence. This local body of believers was established by a group of brothers and sisters and the late Pastor Thomas Lacy, who was a missionary of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) and Mission to the World (MTW). Today the church is a reminder to many of God’s love and unity and seeks to worship the Triune God according to Scripture – glorifying the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The church seeks to be a light in the community, testifying to the holiness and grandeur of God as well as His grace and mercy found in Christ alone. Currently, the church is served by Pastors Leogardo Catzim and Ray Call.
